News Article 1: The Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery Hosts Quilt National ‘09
The Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery will present a selection of quilts from Quilt National ‘09 from November 12, 2009 – January 17, 2010. This exhibit is produced and circulated by the Dairy Barn Southeastern Ohio Cultural Arts Center in Athens, Ohio. The exhibition is the 16th biennial juried exhibition of innovative quilts and demonstrates the transformations taking place in the world of quilting by some of the most talented contemporary quilt artists from around the world.
News Article 2: Governor Strickland Appoints New Ohio Arts Council Board Members
Governor Ted Strickland has announced the appointments of Jacquelyn Nance of Moreland Hills, Sara Vance of Cincinnati and the reappointment of Barbara Gould of Cincinnati to the Ohio Arts Council Board. Ms. Nance and Ms. Vance will serve terms ending July 1, 2014, replacing Neal Zimmers of Dublin and Ginger Warner of Cincinnati, whose terms expired. Ms. Gould was reappointed for a term ending July 1, 2014.
News Article 3: Ohio Arts Council to Visit Seven Cities for Listening Tour
The Ohio Arts Council (OAC) is hitting the road again this fall to find out what Ohioans value about their communities, creativity and the arts. The OAC’s Listening Tour will travel to seven more communities this fall and winter discovering what creativity means to elected officials, arts professionals and citizens in large and small communities across the state. Kent and Cleveland will be the next stops on November 5 and 6 and Columbus meetings will take place on December 10.

The Ohio Arts Council (OAC) will place several programs on a funding hiatus during the FY2010/2011 biennium and reduce one program to a single deadline. The International Partnership and Capacity Building programs will be on hiatus for FY2010, Arts Innovation and International Partnership for FY2011 and the Arts Access program will accept applications only at the March 1, 2010 deadline.
