Learn bead embroidery techniques and constructions methods to create a tiny wearable artwork. We will use beads, thread, and fiber to make a pin or brooch. Please bring your eyeglasses if you need for close work.
Jennifer Whitten is an artist in Cleveland, Ohio focused on assemblage, bead work, stitching and other intricacies. Her work has been awarded in national and regional juried shows and has appeared in magazines and calendars. Her current series explores tools of a psychological necessity: dimensional renderings of interior processes and concepts. This body of work, three pieces of which appear in After Hours, blends interests from her dual career as both an artist and a clinical counselor.
Jennifer is also a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who works for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. For over 20 years she has contributed to the behavioral health mission of this agency. She currently is the program director for the Comprehensive Sex Offender Program at Grafton Correctional Institution. She completed ODRC’s Executive Leadership Training program in 2015.
