How well do you know Arts Midwest? The regional arts organization serves Ohio and exists to promote creativity, nurture cultural leadership, and engage people in meaningful arts experiences, with a  goal to bring vitality to Midwest communities and enrich lives.

Join Christy Dickinson, senior program director, and Brian Halaas, program manager, as they share information about the upcoming Arts Midwest Booking and Education Conference for performing arts presenters and touring artists. The conference will be held in Columbus, Ohio on August 28–31, 2017. In addition, you will learn about the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program that encourages performing arts touring by providing financial support to presenting organizations in the Ohio and the Midwest. The application process for this program is currently open, and applications are due on April 25, 2017.

About The PresenterS

Christy Dickinson is a Senior Program Director at Arts Midwest where she develops policies, guidelines, and efficient procedures for Arts Midwest grant programs, including the presenting and touring funding opportunity, Arts Midwest Touring Fund, and Shakespeare in American Communities, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. She also works closely with other programs to provide leadership, share information, and streamline the management of information. Christy holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts painting from the College of Visual Arts and a master’s degree in liberal students with a concentration on West African folklore and art from Hamline University.

Brian Halaas is a Program Manager at Arts Midwest where he manages professional development and communications for the Arts Midwest Conference, the preeminent booking and education conference for the Midwest performing arts industry. Previously Brian worked in the development departments at American Ballet Theatre and the Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York City. With a background in classical music and opera, he has also held positions at IMG Artists, Minnesota Opera, and Chautauqua Opera. Brian has a bachelor’s degree in music from Augsburg College and a master’s degree in performing arts administration from New York University.
