They illuminate community identity and help us understand and imagine our lives in new ways. Our lives are richer and more remarkable because of the contribution of artists to the social, physical, economic and spiritual fabric of our neighborhoods and towns. The presence of artists in a particular place is a strong indicator of cultural vitality. Businesses, new and old alike, need places where work and play come together in creative and dynamic ways. Artists living and working in a community affect the extent to which arts and culture are integrated into the schools and the number of non-profit arts organizations, theatres, art classes, galleries, and venues for live music in that community.
Individual Excellence Award Panel Meeting InformationThe Individual Excellence Award panel meetings have been scheduled for this year. As a way for us to continue to cut costs there are some pretty big changes in the way we are holding these meetings. First is the location; we are holding all of our meetings here at the OAC, 727 E Main St in Columbus. In order to do this we have to hold one meeting at a time. Below you will see the meeting dates and times. Please note that the playwriting and criticism panels do not start until the afternoon of their respective days. As in year's past we always encourage you to attend the panel meetings; unfortunately we cannot anticipate when your application will be reviewed or if a two-day panel will last all two days.
