Opening Night of The Ohio Watercolor Society 31st Annual Exhibition 2008

Come to the Riffe Gallery for the opening of impressive exhibition. The evening will kick off at 5 p.m. with a reception.

Demonstrations
- Sunday, November 16
2 - 4 p.m.
Triple Play Homer Hacker, Carolyn Ross Hibbard and Karen LaValley share the spotlight as they paint from a live model. The trio of talent entertains the viewer with distinctive "how to" skills and individual styles.
- Sunday, November 23
2 - 4 p.m.
Getting the Dogs Out of the Kennel with Judy Anderson. How to take an unsuccessful painting from bland to grand.
- Sunday, December 7
2 - 4 p.m.
Working Through Creative Blockswith Sharon Stolzenberger. Create a mixed-media piece using techniques such as stamping, image transfer, collage, acrylic and drawing.

Capitol Theatre lobby, Riffe Center third floor
Riffe Gallery staff will help Students 6-17 explore water media through flowers, fantasy and family favorites. Registration is required as space is limited, and all children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Registration begins October 1 and ends October 24. Register online at www.riffegallery.org
The Riffe Gallerys Education Program seeks to increase public appreciation
and understanding of the gallery's exhibitions.

Painting with a Point! Children and their adult companions were invited
to create an original painting using pointillism with the Riffe Gallery staff. Participants used tiny dots of color rather than broad brush strokes to create an impressionist-style painting.

The Columbus Metropolitan Library, Ohio Arts Council and Friends of the Library have once again partnered to bring arts opportunities to artists and the public by presenting a juried art show at the Columbus Metropolitan Library Main Library. In 1998 the two organizations collaborated to create the Ohio Online Visual Artist Registry (OOVAR), a database that showcases the work of more than 700 artists from Ohio and around the world.
