Kent State University (KSU) is inviting Ohio and national artists to submit up to nine (9) digital images of past work for the KSU Taylor Hall Building Percent for Art Project commission. From the submissions a group of semi-finalists will be selected to visit the campus, meet with the committee (comprised of KSU faculty and staff), and visit the artwork site locations to create a site-specific art work proposal.
The renovation of KSU's Taylor Hall provided the opportunity to house together the School of Visual Communication Design (VCD) and Communication Studies. The historic Taylor Hall building's interior has been transformed to become the center for these dynamic programs. The commissioned work should be reflective of the departments which are housed in Taylor Hall. Two interior wall locations have been identified for the commissioned work.
Current KSU employees and their spouses are not eligible to apply for this commission. Alumni and former KSU faculty, and associates, are encouraged to apply and should indicate their past relationship to KSU in their application materials. Students currently enrolled in any degree-granting program are not eligible to apply.
