Art Around Ohio is a special four-part video mini-series hosted by Aimee Wissman, marketing and exhibitions fellow at the Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery. Originally published on the OAC's Instagram page, Art Around Ohio takes you inside the homes, studios, and workspaces of artists around the state and explores the creative communities that call Ohio home.

Resilient Ohio: After Roof Collapse, Marysville’s Avalon Theatre Rises Toward Summer Reopening

As if fundraising for a multi-million-dollar capital campaign during a pandemic wasn't hard enough, Marysville's Avalon Theatre was forced to show its resilience when part of its structure crumbled one night in June 2020. Rising from the dust of the collapse, construction has resumed, and the theatre has set its sights on an August 2021 grand opening.

Ohio Arts Council Board Approves More Than $14.7M in Arts Grants

The Ohio Arts Council board has approved 743 grants totaling $14,733,107 to support Ohio artists, organizations, students, educators, and public arts programming during its initial and major state fiscal year 2020 funding round.

Governor's Awards 2019: Ronette Burkes-Trowsdell, Community Development & Participation Award Winner

Ronette “Roni” Burkes-Trowsdell previously served as warden at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville, Ohio, and was recently promoted to Regional Director of Specialty Institutions. Throughout Roni’s 18-year tenure with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, she has chosen to lead and support diverse projects that aim to increase access to the arts for those who are justice-involved around the state.
