Art & Accessibility: Tip #1

Art & Accessibility Tip #1: Accessibility is Good for Everyone!

Did you know there are approximately 57 million Americans with disabilities? Did you know the spending power of Americans with disabilities is approximately $220 billion? Being accessible is not only the law and the right thing to do, but it also means increasing your customer, volunteer, supporter, and participant base. For more quick accessibility facts, go to the ADA National Network at adata.org.

For more information about making your arts programming accessible, contact your Ohio Arts Council program coordinator at oac.ohio.gov/About/Staff-Directory, including Kim Turner, OAC Accessibility Coordinator, at kim.turner@oac.ohio.gov.

The Ohio Arts Council believes that everyone has the right of equal access to the arts. Each month, the ArtsOhio  blog will include an accessibility tip for arts organizations. For additional accessibility resources, visit oac.ohio.gov/About/About-the-Council/Accessibility.
