Kari Gunter-Seymour Reappointed as Ohio Poet Laureate by Governor Mike DeWine

Kari Gunter-Seymour of Albany was reappointed by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine to a second term as Ohio Poet Laureate on Dec. 28, 2021. Her new term began Jan. 1, 2022.

“From day one of her laureateship, Kari Gunter-Seymour proactively sought opportunities to present virtual programming and engage with children, teens, seniors, as well as Ohioans challenged by various disabilities – all while the world was under siege by a pandemic,” said OAC Executive Director Donna S. Collins. “Through her reappointment, we are delighted to further and deepen our work with Kari to use poetry as a means of healing.”
