Extra credit to those who come prepared--learn more about the history of the OAC's Individual Artist Program and curator Ann Bremner: About... OAC's Individual Artist Program: The Ohio Arts Council’s Individual Artist program has granted awards to practicing professional artists in the state of Ohio since 1979. From emerging to mature, Ohio artists at any stage of their career are applicable for an Individual Excellence Awards (IEA). Panels of distinguished artists and arts professionals review applications to select work that possesses strong vision, demonstrates expertise and craftsmanship, and explores and expands the artist’s chosen medium. These artists represent the diverse group of talented individuals who work and live in Ohio, as well as the quality of work they provide to Ohio audiences. Recognized nationally and internationally, the OAC IEA program creates a supportive environment in which artists can contribute to Ohio’s cultural landscape, and enhance the state’s economic and educational vitality. Search for IEA recipients dating back to 1998. The Curator She earned BA (cum laude) and MA degrees in history of art from The Ohio State University.
