75 Artists Receive Individual Excellence Awards from the Ohio Arts Council

Members of the Ohio Arts Council board have approved $300,000 in grant funding to be awarded to 75 Ohio artists through the OAC’s Individual Excellence Awards program for state fiscal year 2021.

Dr. Paschal Yao Younge, a master artist specializing in African Traditional Musical Arts, has been awarded the 2020 Ohio Heritage Fellowship Award for Performing Arts from the Ohio Arts Council.

Traditional Arts in Ohio: Embodied Learning and Pewtersmithing

Ohio Arts Council Folk and Traditional Arts Contractor Cristina Benedetti visited Millersburg, Ohio, to meet Willa Hollingsworth, a pewterer and owner of Three Feathers Pewter. At the Three Feathers workshop, she learned about Ms. Hollingsworth's study of the traditional craft through years of apprenticeship and practice.
